Maple is 10% Lighter than Hickory, which means you can use a thicker stick without increasing the weight too much. Because of it being lighter, it also allows the stick to play slightly faster! Maple is also a softer wood, allowing for more sensitivity and suiting lighter playing situations. The combination of the extra length, the rebound weighting and the small round tip makes this a really comfortable stick to play.
